Michael Gawrys

I am a recent member of the Blacksburg and New River Valley community, having chosen to relocate my family here with a deep sense of intention and appreciation for the region. I currently serve as a faculty member in Housing and Property Management at Virginia Tech, where my work centers on the many ways housing shapes individual and community well‑being. My teaching and outreach span design, management, policy, and finance, reflecting a belief that housing is a fundamental part of daily life and a cornerstone of economic and social stability. Through all my endeavors, I remain committed to expanding public understanding of housing issues and increasing awareness of the diverse pathways that support stable, accessible, and meaningful housing. I am especially passionate about helping individuals and families explore alternatives to traditional homeownership.
